- ½ small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp dried basil
- ½ 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- ½ Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir well.
- Add oregano, basil, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Simmer the sauce on low heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to your desired consistency.
