  • 2 cups cubed sourdough bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ 1/4 tsp salt
  • ½ 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cold butter, cubed
  • ½ 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ Maple syrup and fresh berries for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Place the cubed sourdough bread in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, making sure all pieces are coated. Press down slightly to help the bread absorb the liquid.
  5. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon. Use your fingers to mix until crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle the topping over the bread mixture in the baking dish.
