  • 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • ½ 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • ½ tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • ½ cup old-fashioned oats
  • ½ 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • ½ 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • ½ 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ 1/4 tsp salt
  • ½ 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, maple syrup, lemon juice, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well to coat the apples.
  3. Spread the apple mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, mix together oats, flour, brown sugar, pecans, cinnamon, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and mix until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the crisp topping over the apples in the baking dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
