Ingredients(scaled)

  • 1 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ 1/3 cup melted butter
  • ½ 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ egg, beaten
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoons cocoa powder, unsweetened

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Add flour, baking soda, and salt to the banana mixture. Stir until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cocoa powder with a tablespoon of hot water to create a smooth paste.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the cocoa paste onto the banana batter. Use a knife to swirl the cocoa paste into the batter to create a marbled effect.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the banana bars to cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
