Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook pasta until al dente, drain.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, whisk in flour, cook 1 min.
- Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until thickened (about 5 min).
- Remove from heat, stir in shredded cheddar, salt, pepper.
- Combine cooked pasta with cheese sauce, transfer to a buttered baking dish.
- Mix panko breadcrumbs with olive oil, top the pasta evenly.
- Sprinkle parmesan cheese over breadcrumbs if using.
- Bake 20-25 min until bubbling and topping is golden brown.
- Let sit 5 min before serving.
