Ingredients(scaled)

  • 1 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon active dry yeast
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • ½ 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • ½ 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • ½ Extra butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, yogurt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Knead until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Roll each part into a teardrop shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  6. Place a rolled-out naan on the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes until bubbles form.
  7. Flip the naan and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown spots appear.
  8. In a small saucepan, melt butter and add minced garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  9. Brush the cooked naan with garlic butter and sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
  10. Repeat with the remaining dough portions.
